Glassblowing Taster Day

glassblowing taster day

Glassblowing

Spend time in a fully working glass studio learning basic glassblowing techniques. .

This is a highly practical course, after an introduction to the equipment, studio and a H&S briefing you will get straight to work. Emsie will teach you how to gather the glass from the furnace, how to blow it, form shapes, apply colour, reheat, decorate and anneal.

On the taster day you will learn the basics and everyone leaves after making a variety of handblown items from baubles to paperweights,

The pieces you create will need to spend 24 hours in the annealing oven and can be collected later.

You can arrange this with Emsie during your course. You can expect to make at least 2 or 3 pieces during your time in the studio.. If you get hooked, sign up for the full day course!

This is a fascinating craft, and the taster day is suitable for groups, hen parties, craft fanatics, families, or groups of individual bookings.

We run this 1/2 day on a basis of 10 people. Course times 10am. to 2pm.
