DCRS Construction History

Rob Buckley

Sustainable building not only provides homes that are a joy to live in, but also stimulates local economies and eliminates the damaging impact the construction industry can have on the environment we live in ".

Rob Buckley, Director

Established in 2006 by Rob Buckley, DCRS Construction was an award-winning Dorset based building company that specialised in sustainable new builds and traditional renovation.

The company no longer takes on building contracts, but is able to offer consultancy, training, and help finding the right contractors for your project.

Sustainable

Inspired by traditional building methods which use local materials and are therefore naturally sustainable, Rob Buckley pioneered straw bale building techniques over the past 10 years. Combining modern technology with traditional construction methods created buildings that have a low embodied energy and are highly insulated.

Traditional

DCRS Construction understood that old building technology is different from modern building technology, and to eliminate problems such as damp, one must use traditional building materials such as lime to renovate properties. As well as its own experienced team, DCRS Construction used a local network of traditional craftspeople, from timber framers to stone masons, to use the best traditional building skills.
