Blacksmith's Tool Making

This course is aimed at amateur smiths and keen hobbyists.
Over the two day course a set of tools will be forged including tongs, chisels and anvil tools (hardies, sets and cutters) and there will also be an opportunity to put these tools to use in forging various traditional items.
This course is fully catered and free camping is also available.
Alex Pole trained as a jewellery maker in 1990, and followed this with blacksmithing in 1994. He has worked professionally in both fields ever since. DCRS has been teaching blacksmithing since 2003, and Alex has been our Tutor since 2009, he is very popular and students often want to come back for a second course!

The workshop is much larger than the old teaching stidio at DCRS, with all the equipment one would expect with a fully working forge and is surrounded by beautiful apple orchards.
