Accommodation & Catering

The course is fully catered by The Railway Cafe . Run by Pip, this local cafe provides three exceptionally tasty meals a day to keep your strength up with the focus on organic, locally sourced food which delivers both taste and sustenance. There is also free camping in the orchard adjacent to the forge.

Axe Making Course UK Dorset Axe Forging Course UK Dorset

This course is aimed at amateur smiths and keen hobbyists.

Over the two day course a set of tools will be forged including tongs, chisels and anvil tools (hardies, sets and cutters) and there will also be an opportunity to put these tools to use in forging various traditional items.

A good level of previous knowledge is recommended (equivalent to the beginners level) but is open to anyone with practical skills.

Course Cost

£345 for both days including all materials used and all meals.
