Heritage Heroes

If you missed episode 11 of BBC2's Heritage Heroes featuring DCRS you can watch it here using QuickTime

An interview with Rob Buckley

Follow this link to hear Rob talking about sustainable building and the use of lime and hemp (known as hempcrete) on Farm Radio .

DCRS Present

From October 2012 DCRS will no longer be based at West Farm Barn as the lease has expired. However, this has allowed the project to develop and move on to its next phase.

Keeping Rural Skills Alive

Courses are now run at a variety of locations around the County including tutors own workshops and studios. DCRS's aim has always been to promote rural skills and the people in these crafts. Running courses in their natural environment, whether it be in the field or working studio, better showcases these skills and give tutors more ownership of the courses they have developed with DCRS over the years. All courses are still organised and booked through DCRS and come under our course conditions.

Sustainable Building

We now hold our flagship DCRS Straw Bale Building course with Rob Buckley at The Magdalen Project, on the Dorset Somerset border. DCRS has worked with Magdalen for many years and we are delighted that we now can make use of their excellent facilities.

New Ventures

We are working with other venues and organisations so that we can continue our aim of 'keeping rural skills alive'.

Not-for-Profit

Our Social Enterprise Mark has been renewed, reflecting our aims and that of the Mark; 'working for people and planet'.
